    • Your English language proficiency.
    • How old you are.
    • Your health and character.
    • Whether you are able to be sponsored by a State or Territory.
    • Whether you are able to be sponsored by an employer.

    • Religion
    • Nationality
    • Political Opinion
    • Membership to a Particular Social Group

    Partner and Fiance Visas

If you want your partner or fiancé to live in Australia there are different visa options available to you depending on whether your partner is already in Australia or currently living overseas. To qualify for a partner visa you will need to be able to show that:

    • You are in a genuine and ongoing relationship that you both consent to.
    • If you’re married, the marriage is legal under Australian law, this means that marriages involving people under 18 years of age or more than two people will not be accepted.
    • You meet health and character requirements.
    • You pass police clearances in countries that you’ve lived in.

The process for applying for a partner visa can be complex but it’s important to get it right the first time. Our experienced lawyers can guide you through the process.

    Tourist Visas

If you want to visit Australia to see family, get medical treatment, attend a business conference or just explore the great Southern land, you may need to apply for a tourist or visitor visa. Depending on the reason for your visit to Australia and how long you wish to stay, you may need to meet different requirements including:

    • Health and Character Requirements
    • Proof of Financial Position
    • Health and Travel Insurance
    • Proof of Accomodation in Australia

    Carer Visas

If you are required to be in Australia to care for a member of your family you may be eligible for a carer visa. The relative that you need to care for may be a partner, child, parent, brother, sister, grandparent, grandchild, aunt, uncle, niece or nephew and they must be suffering from a long-term or permanent medical condition that requires substantial and continuing care. The type of carer visa that you can apply for will depend on whether you are currently in Australia or overseas. These are permanent visas that offer a path to citizenship.

    Student Visas

Australia has some of the world’s best universities and educational institutions, so it’s no surprise that many people choose to study here. There are several steps involved to obtain a visa to study in Australia, these include:

    • Get accepted to the course and institution that you want to study at. In your application you may need to provide a range of documents including your transcript of results, detail of work experience, letters of recommendation and any other documents that the educational institution asks for. The offer letter you receive from the institution may also be conditional upon you passing an English test.
    • Submit documents for the visa process. This may include providing financial documents and paying the fees for the first semester.
    • Receive an electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCoE)
    • Send application for student visa to the Department of Immigration and Border Protection. Ideally, this should be done at least three months before your course begins.
    • Once your visa is approved you can get ready to come to Australia.

    Parent Visas

If you are an Australian citizen or have permanent residency to Australia, your parents may be eligible for a visa as well. This will depend on a wide range of factors such as:

    • Whether your parents are already in Australia or overseas.
    • The health of your parents.
    • Whether your brothers and sisters are also permanent residents or citizens of Australia.
    • How long your parents want to stay in Australia.
    • What financial support your parents have.

“I would just like to thank you for your hard work and understanding during a very stressful time for myself.I cannot thank you enough for the work and advice you provided. My assault and stalking and intimidation charges were heard by the Magistrate at Liverpool Court yesterday, Tuesday 16th. I pleaded guilty to the assault with the stalking being dropped prior by way of representations made by you. The Magistrate seen through the bullshit supplied by the Police facts sheet and I am happy to say no conviction was recorded. He stated it was “a molehill turned into a mountain by police”.
